Updated Daughtry Bucket List

I started to actually put my Daughtry Bucket List into words. I’ve thrown out an item here or there over the last three years but I never actually wrote it down. So I did and thought I would share. I know some peeps may think I’m crazy or look at a couple of these items and raise some eyebrows but it’s a bucket list. You have to be able to shoot for the moon sometimes. Some of the things I’ve been able to cross off already while some are probably unreachable, especially the last one.

1. Go to a Daughtry concert – DONEx4
I’ve been lucky that all three have been unique. My first show was a one-off show (not part of a tour) in a smallish town, my second was the infamous Mystic Lake “don’t eat the chicken” acoustic show, and the third was my first show that was part of a tour leg and the pictures with the guys after the show were done in a heavy snowstorm.

2. Meet the members of the band and have a picture taken with each one (not counting VIP).
*Brian – DONEx4
*Chris – DONEx3
*Elvio – DONEx2
*JP – DONEx3
*Robin (I would also actually be able to see Robin play the drums. At the 2 shows where he’s played, I was too close to the stage to actually see him. LOL) - Kind of a moot point now. :/
*Jamal - DONEX1
*Steely

3. Experience an official tour VIP – DONEx2

4. Have a redo of an official tour VIP where I am not twice as wide as Chris.

4. Experience and capture the following songs on video:
            “Call Your Name”
            “Drown In You”
            “Over You” DONE
            “Tennessee Line” DONE
“What About Now” EXPERIENCED but didn't video because my hands were shaking too much.

5. Learn the stories behind the following songs and/or how they came to be:
            “Long Way”
            “Tennessee Line”
            “There and Back Again”
            “Traffic Light”
            “Who’s They”

6. I’d like to not have to drive to a Daughtry concert. In other words, I’d like to see them actually come to my city. Although I live on the edge of BFE, I’m not all the way there. The metro population of my city is 100,000+. We’ve had plenty of big name acts such as Elton John, Carrie Underwood, Destiny’s Child (before Beyonce was Beyonce), Journey, Barry Manilow (don’t laugh!), Sheryl Crow, Rick Springfield, Candlebox, Darius Rucker (just him, no Hootie), Tim McGraw, Evanescence, Shinedown, Three Days Grace, Cavo, Nelly (!), among others. I don’t blame Daughtry at all. I think the peeps at the venues here that look for acts to come get into ruts (country music) that they don’t want to get out of. We get too much of the same (country music). We have a great events center, a beautiful theater, and are getting a real Hard Rock Casino. I really do think Daughtry could do well here (but I might be a little biased).  DONE. THEY CAME TO MY HOMETOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, to have them come back as headliners for something more than just an hour long show.

Now the first half of this list (1-6) is the part that I consider the POSSIBLE part of my list. I’ve been able to accomplish a few of those things and what’s left could possibly happen. The last half of my bucket list is the NOT PROBABLE BUT NEVER SAY NEVER part of the list. Well, I can dream, right? I never thought I’d have my first novel published and that happened, so, here it goes…

7. I would love to come up with the storyline for a music video to a Daughtry song. Not a performance one, a conceptual video with a plot line and acting and all that. Oh, and Chris and the guys would do the acting. No outsourcing that! Let’s put those acting lessons that Chris has been taking to use! LOL

8. I would feel so honored to not only sit down and have a fancy coffee with the guys but also talk about the creative process with them. I’d like to see how their process for creating a song compares to my process for writing one of my novels. I love a song that tells a story and I think it would be neat to see how alike/different those processes are. I would love to talk about my writing with them too (if they'd listen to me LOL).

9. I’m a teacher (at least until I win the lottery or can support myself with my writing which basically means until I win the lottery) and I would like to take a week or two out of my summer to drive to multiple shows. I’d love to be able to meet as many of my Twitter Daughtry tweeps as possible.

10. Way before my depression/anxiety/OCD/binge eating took over my life, I was a theater minor in college. Although I performed on stage, my real interest was behind the scenes of a production. I like to see how things run and I think it would be neat to experience a Daughtry concert from behind the scenes.

11. And my final Daughtry Bucket List item would be to experience a concert without my anxiety kicking my ass like it did at my last show. I would like to be able to turn around and see the crowds behind me or do VIP again without making a fool out of myself or actually sound normal and not get tongue tied while attempting to talk to Chris. Mainly, though, I’d just like to go to a Daughtry concert without the fear my anxiety gives me. I just want to enjoy myself without having to worry if people are talking about me or judging me. I just want to enjoy the show.
